Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is on pace to surpass Tyreek Hill’s receiving yard record after an impressive Week 2 performance against the Cincinnati Bengals.
BollywoodFever: The Kansas City Chiefs secured a crucial win in Week 2 of the regular season against the Cincinnati Bengals, largely due to the breakout performance of young wide receiver Rashee Rice.
Rice finished the game with five receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown, one of only two offensive touchdowns for the Chiefs that day.
This stellar performance brings Rice’s total to 178 receiving yards through two weeks, placing him in the top 10 in the league for receiving yards.
He is currently on pace to surpass the Chiefs’ single-season receiving yard record, previously set by Tyreek Hill with 1,479 yards in 2018.
With 178 receiving yards over two games, Rice is averaging 89 yards per contest. If he continues at this rate, he would finish the season with 1,513 yards, breaking Hill’s record.
More importantly, Rice appears to be developing into quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ go-to target, which could solidify his role as a key player in the Chiefs’ offense as the season progresses.
With wide receiver Marquise Brown sidelined for the season, Kansas City is in need of a consistent playmaker on the outside, and Rashee Rice seems poised to fill that role.
