The Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons are tied 7-7 midway through the second quarter, with Rashee Rice and Patrick Mahomes connecting for a touchdown.
BollywoodFever: The Kansas City Chiefs faced a tough start in their Sunday night clash against the Atlanta Falcons, who were riding high off a thrilling comeback win against the Eagles.
The Falcons’ offense picked up right where it left off, quickly driving 70 yards in seven plays as quarterback Kirk Cousins found wide receiver Drake London for a 14-yard touchdown to open the game.
The Chiefs, looking to respond, put together a 17-play drive of their own.
However, it ended in disappointment when quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw an underthrown pass to the end zone, resulting in an interception by former Broncos safety Justin Simmons, now with the Falcons.
Despite the turnover, the Chiefs defense stepped up and forced a Falcons punt.
Kansas City’s offense regained momentum on their next possession, executing a 13-play drive, which ended with Mahomes hitting Rashee Rice for a 13-yard touchdown pass, tying the game at 7-7. Rice, a second-round pick, has made an immediate impact this season, leading the Chiefs in receiving with 54 yards and five receptions.
Mahomes, who has completed 12 of 18 passes for 94 yards with a touchdown and an interception, has also targeted rookie Xavier Worthy three times in the game so far.
The Chiefs and Falcons are currently locked at 7-7 midway through the second quarter as both teams battle for momentum.
