Kelly Clarkson Embraces Rum-Tasting on Her Show Amid Weight Loss Journey

Kelly Clarkson delights her audience by drinking rum straight from the bottle during an interview with Kenny Chesney on her chat show. Discover more about her weight loss journey and recent transformations.

Bollywood Fever: Kelly Clarkson, who previously credited cutting back on carbs for her weight loss, clearly still enjoys a good drink. The singer-turned-presenter delighted her studio audience on Monday by downing rum straight from the bottle during her chat show.

The “Because of You” hitmaker, 42, was in the middle of an interview with country singer Kenny Chesney, 56, when they were presented with two glasses of his key lime-flavored Blue Chair Bay rum to sample.

“Are you going to drink it?” Kenny asked. Kelly replied, “I felt like it was rude if I didn’t try it.”

However, Kelly wasn’t a fan of the diluted drink. “Wait, it hasn’t been watered down, has it?” she asked, quickly reaching for the bottle and unscrewing the lid. “Well, I can fix that. I want to know what it tastes like, and I can’t do it via all that [water]. I can’t!”

Kelly observed the spirit, noting, “It smells nice,” before joking, “I don’t know if we can do that on daytime.”

Ignoring any reservations, Kelly, showcasing her slimmed-down figure in a mini skirt and red top, took a swig straight from the bottle as Kenny remarked, “You already did it.”

The audience erupted in applause, entertained by her bold move. “Oh, that is dangerous!” Kelly exclaimed, giving her honest review of the rum before taking another taste.

Kenny, Blue Chair Bay’s sole owner and chief creative officer, shared insights into the rum’s blending process. “When I first made my rum company, I had to go to Barbados to the distillery and taste it. They asked, ‘What do you want it to taste like?’ It was almost like a chemistry lab,” he explained.

Last month, Kelly revealed she used a weight loss drug, contrary to her previous claims that her transformation was due to walking more and cutting back on carbs. The Fort Worth, Texas-born star, who had faced speculation about her rapid weight loss, said doctors prescribed her medication after a blood test. She clarified that she did not use Ozempic but did not specify which drug she used.

“Mine is a different one than people assume, but I ended up having to do that too,” Kelly told Whoopi Goldberg. She reportedly lost 60 pounds, though she hasn’t disclosed the exact amount.

Kelly, who shares daughter River Rose, nine, and son Remington Alexander, seven, with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, 47, said her physician insisted she take the medication after multiple attempts to get her on it. “My doctor chased me for like two years,” she said. “And I was like, ‘No, I’m afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems; I was afraid.'”

She explained that the medication helps her body break down sugar, a function her body doesn’t perform correctly. Reflecting on her weight gain, Kelly noted she was surprised by her drastic transformation when she saw herself on camera.

Kelly Clarkson continues to balance her vibrant career and personal life, making bold moves both on and off the screen.
