Kelly Clarkson opened up about her physical transformation, revealing that she had used a weight loss drug to aid in shedding pounds, a topic she had previously avoided discussing.
During an episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” the singer shared her health journey, prompted by Whoopi Goldberg discussing her own experience with weight loss medication. Kelly admitted that she had not planned to reveal this aspect of her life but disclosed that she was prescribed the medication after receiving troubling bloodwork results.
While she did not specify the medication’s name, Kelly clarified that it was different from what people might assume, adding, “It’s something that aids in helping break down the sugar. My body doesn’t do it right.”
Kelly Said… “My doctor chased me for like 2 years. And I was like, ‘No, I’m afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems.’ Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic, it’s not. It’s something else. It’s something that aids in helping break down the sugar. My body doesn’t do it right.”
This revelation follows Kelly’s recent comments attributing her weight loss to a more active lifestyle in New York City and a protein-heavy diet. However, the use of medication was an additional factor.
Kelly shared that she had a wake-up call after watching footage of herself from a concert in Los Angeles, where she didn’t recognize herself. She revealed that at her heaviest, she weighed 203 pounds.
Joining other celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Rebel Wilson, and Tracy Morgan, who have also discussed their use of weight loss medication, Kelly’s candidness provides insight into her health journey and the challenges she has faced.
