Kiara Advani made a striking appearance at an event on the sidelines of the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday, captivating attention with her stunning pink and black gown.Â
However, it wasn’t just her attire that grabbed headlines. An interview she gave on the red carpet of the Red Sea Film Foundation’s Women in Cinema gala dinner has surfaced online, showcasing Kiara speaking about her first time at Cannes. What stood out to many was her new accent, which some found distracting.
In the video, Kiara expresses her excitement, saying it is “very very humbling” to be invited, especially as she completes 10 years as an actor. She notes, “It comes at a very special moment as well.” Her particularly American way of pronouncing “very” and “at” left fans speculating if she was adopting a new accent.
One person predicted on Twitter, “Bollywood twt is coming to talk about your accent… RUN, KIARA RUN.” Indeed, multiple tweets expressed surprise and criticism of Kiara’s accent. A fan commented, “I love her, but why that accent?” Another person remarked, “Her own accent is really good compared to this.” A user questioned, “Indian accent is in no way bad or a degrade then why do these people have to not choose it n ruin the whole damn thing.” Another harshly added, “Does Kiara Advani think she’s a Kim Kardashian when she talks like that? Please stfu, and stop that cringe accent. You’re not cool or funny for that.”
Kiara previously attended an event hosted by Variety, where she spoke about her career and joined a panel of other women from the entertainment industry.

The Cannes Film Festival kicked off with the world premiere of Quentin Dupieux’s Le Deuxieme Acte (The Second Act), featuring Lea Seydoux, Vincent Lindon, Louis Garrel, and Raphael Quenard.
Kiara Advani is gearing up for her role in the Ram Charan-starrer Game Changer, a political action thriller directed by S. Shankar, set to hit screens soon. She will also join the YRF spy universe in the Hrithik Roshan-starrer WAR 2, which features RRR star Jr. NTR. Additionally, Kiara has Don 3 lined up, where she will star alongside Ranveer Singh. Reports suggest that Advani will also appear alongside Yash in Toxic.
