Kick introduces new features to attract VTubers, following Twitch’s controversial attire policy changes. Learn about Kick’s latest moves to support streamers.
BollywoodFever: Streaming platform Kick has begun rolling out new features aimed at attracting VTubers as part of its strategy to take advantage of Twitch’s recent rule changes. On October 7, Twitch updated its attire policy, mandating that virtual models, or VTubers, remain fully covered during streams. The change sparked anger in the VTuber community, leading to speculation that Kick is positioning itself as a more welcoming platform.
On October 11, Kick announced a new 3D Kick hat asset for streamers to use with their VTuber models. The platform posted on its Twitter/X account, “VTUBERS. Yes we like VTUBERS… just saying,” hinting that more features are coming soon to support the community.

Kick has also signed its first official VTuber, Aurora Phoenyx, who announced her partnership with the platform on October 9. In an interview with Kick CEO Eddie Craven, Aurora expressed her appreciation for Kick, saying the platform has been supportive amid the challenges many VTubers face due to Twitch’s new policies. “Kick welcomes VTubers & supports us,” she shared on Twitter/X, urging fellow creators to stand strong.
Kick employee Santamaria echoed the sentiment, stating, “Kick is about providing a relevant option/market that does more for Creators so they may do more for their communities.”
Meanwhile, Twitch continues to face backlash over its recent policy updates. On October 10, Twitch creator Chromuchromu was banned on their birthday for allegedly breaching the new attire rules, causing further confusion and upset in the community.
Despite the controversy, VTubers have continued to thrive on Twitch. Ironmouse recently broke Kai Cenat’s long-standing subscriber record during a subathon on September 26, reaching over 311,000 subs, a sign that the VTuber community remains active and growing on the platform.
