Bollywood Fever: Country singer Lauren Alaina has shared the heartbreaking news that her father, J.J. Suddeth, has passed away. Alaina announced the tragic news on Instagram on Wednesday, expressing her grief with, “We lost my daddy last night, and I really have no words yet.” She did not provide details regarding the circumstances of his death.
In light of this loss, Alaina has canceled her upcoming performances in Savannah, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte through Saturday, stating, “I am going home to be with my family. Thank you for your prayers and understanding.”
Alaina, known for her close bond with her father, had previously spoken proudly about his successful battle with alcohol addiction, which brought them closer together. She wrote the song “My Old Man” as a tribute to him for her wedding to Cam Arnold in February.
Her last Instagram tribute to her father was on Father’s Day in June, where she praised his big heart and shared touching photos of him in tears at her wedding. J.J. Suddeth’s death comes six years after Alaina lost her stepfather, Sam Ranker, to cancer.
