The discussion around WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark has intensified following the recent game between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky.
During a dead-ball inbounds play, Sky guard Chennedy Carter blindsided Clark with a hit, fueling the narrative that WNBA veterans “hate” and are “jealous” of the No. 1 overall pick.
Earlier this year, NBA superstar LeBron James made supportive comments regarding this narrative, which have resurfaced after the incident.
“If you don’t rock with Caitlin Clark game you’re just a FLAT OUT HATER!!!!! Stay far away from them people!! PLEASE,” James wrote on X.
“I’m rooting for Caitlin because I’ve been in that seat before…. I’m getting the same thing from my son.. getting a lot of animosity and hatred towards him… there’s a very small number of men and women that actually get to live out their dream of playing the professional sport, and we have grown ass men and women out here doing whatever they can to make sure that doesn’t happen… I’m glad that Caitlin has a great head on her shoulders,” James added on his Mind the Game podcast.
Similar to Clark, James entered the professional arena as a highly-scrutinized No. 1 overall pick and faced significant hate throughout his NBA career but emerged stronger in the end.
