Listen to Dua Lipa’s Latest Track ‘Training Season’ Following a Series of Unfortunate Dates
Dua Lipa has dropped her latest single, “Training Season,” inspired by a series of disappointing dates. The 28-year-old singer shared that the song came to life after a particularly bad date, leading her to declare “training season is over” upon arriving at the studio.
Reflecting on the track’s meaning, Lipa explained, “It’s obviously about that feeling when you are just absolutely done telling people…men specifically in this case, how to date you right.” However, she also emphasized personal growth, stating, “It is also about my training season being over and me growing with every experience.”

Accompanying the release is a music video directed by Vincent Haycock, depicting Lipa surrounded by apologies and second chance requests while she sits alone amidst chaos.
Speaking at the 2024 GRAMMYs, Lipa shared that the song signifies a shift in expectations: “You’re just like, training season’s over. You’re done teaching people how to do things right. [Come correct or] don’t come at all. That’s the vibe.”
Regarding her upcoming album, set for release later this year, Lipa expressed excitement, noting her growth as a songwriter and artist. She stated, “I feel like with every album, I get to grow more and learn more about myself and I become more free as a songwriter and as a performer and as an artist. So, this one, I’m just like digging deeper and deeper. I love it. I’m proud of this one.”
