Ritesh Deshmukh was the lead in the film but the film was totally taken on the shoulders of Om Puri and Paresh Rawal for their comic timing.

The film was rated poorly by most critics in India but was a surprise hit among cinema-goers.

The film was remade in Telugu as Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw and in Kannada as Dakota Picture. Priyadarshan himself remade the film in Malayalam as Aamayum Muyalum.

Priyandarshan only film with Ritesh Deshmukh.

The film was titled “Hai Yeh Paisa” when it was first started in 2004.

Ritiesh signed the film before Kya Kool hai hum hence he had a brief role in the film.
