Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada reaffirms full backing for Erik ten Hag, emphasizing long-term plans for success despite a challenging start to the season.
Bollywood Fever: Manchester United Chief Executive Omar Berrada has expressed the club’s full backing for manager Erik ten Hag, despite a challenging start to the current Premier League season.Â
Berrada remains optimistic that the necessary foundations are being laid for long-term success both domestically and in Europe.
After finishing eighth in the Premier League last season, United’s struggles have continued, with Sunday’s 3-0 defeat by Liverpool marking their second loss in three games this campaign, leaving them in 14th place.
“Erik has our full backing. We think he is the right coach for us,” Berrada told reporters ahead of the Liverpool match in comments published on Monday.
“We have worked very closely together in this transfer window and we are going to continue working very closely with him to help get the best results out of the team.”
Manchester United, a club with a rich history of success, last claimed the English top-flight title in the 2012-13 season under the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.

While winning the Premier League remains the primary goal, Berrada emphasized the importance of a long-term vision.
“We don’t want to just win one Premier League and be satisfied,” Berrada added. “We want to create a team that is capable of competing for the Champions League, for the Premier League, and for the domestic cups on a consistent basis.”
Following a positive summer in the transfer market and with new faces in the boardroom, Berrada feels that the club is moving in the right direction.
“I can sense it, and I can also speak for myself, which is I’m very excited and very optimistic at what we have in front of us,” he said. “I think we’re starting to put the right pieces in place, and I’m absolutely convinced that we’re going to be successful.”
Despite the current setbacks, the club’s leadership remains committed to building a team that can consistently challenge for top honors, with ten Hag at the helm.
