Matthew Perry’s drug dealer blames the actor’s assistant for his death as five individuals face charges related to ketamine distribution. Perry’s death in October 2023, initially ruled an accident, is now at the center of a major legal case.

Bollywood Fever: The tragic death of actor Matthew Perry has taken a new turn as his drug dealer, Erik Fleming, points fingers at Perry’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, alleging that he was the catalyst behind the star’s demise.

Perry, best known for his role on Friends, passed away in October 2023 at the age of 54, with his death later attributed to the acute effects of ketamine.

In a plea agreement obtained by Us Weekly, Fleming claimed he “never dealt” directly with Perry, instead working through Iwamasa, whom he accused of enabling the actor’s ketamine use.

“So the assistant was the enabler,” Fleming alleged, referring to Iwamasa’s role in procuring and administering the drug to Perry.

Fleming detailed his involvement as the middleman between Iwamasa and Jasveen Sangha, also known as “The Ketamine Queen.”

According to court documents, Iwamasa admitted to injecting Perry with ketamine multiple times. Text messages between Fleming and Iwamasa reveal discussions about the drug deals, with Fleming assuring Iwamasa of the quality of the ketamine sourced for Perry.

On October 14, 2023, Fleming delivered 25 vials of ketamine to Iwamasa at Perry’s Los Angeles home. Less than 10 days later, Iwamasa requested another 25 vials, which were delivered on October 24, 2023. Sangha allegedly added ketamine lollipops to the order due to the large quantity purchased.

Fleming claimed that between October 24 and October 28, 2023, Iwamasa administered repeated shots of ketamine to Perry, including the fatal dose on October 28.

A toxicology report later confirmed the presence of ketamine in Perry’s system, alongside other factors such as drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid dependence.

The scene of Perry’s death appeared suspiciously clean, with no visible evidence of drug use near the pool where Perry was found.

Fleming alleged that Iwamasa had cleaned up the scene, disposing of the ketamine bottles and syringes, and “deleted everything” from electronic devices to cover their tracks. This cleanup reportedly took place shortly after Perry’s death.

Initially ruled an accidental death, the case took a dramatic turn when the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California charged five individuals in connection with Perry’s death.

The charges include conspiracy to distribute ketamine and distribution of ketamine resulting in death.

Iwamasa pleaded guilty in August to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death, admitting that he injected Perry without medical training, including on the day of his death.

Fleming also pleaded guilty to similar charges. Meanwhile, Dr. Salvador Plasencia and Dr. Mark Chavez, who were implicated in the ketamine distribution, face charges as well, with Chavez agreeing to plead guilty and Plasencia pleading not guilty.

Sangha, who faces multiple charges including conspiracy to distribute ketamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and ketamine, and maintaining a drug-involved premises, has pleaded not guilty.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the full extent of the roles these individuals played in the circumstances leading to Matthew Perry’s death remains to be seen, but the tragic loss has already left a lasting impact on those who loved the actor.
