The Met Office has issued warnings for heavy rain and strong winds in the UK, with up to 60mph gusts expected in southern England and icy temperatures in Scotland.

London, BollywoodFever: The Met Office has issued fresh weather warnings for the UK, with forecasts predicting a 200-mile deluge across various regions. Southern England, the Midlands, and Wales are bracing for torrential rain, while northern Scotland faces icy temperatures, signalling the definitive end of summer. Wind speeds are expected to reach up to 60mph in some areas.

Meteorologists Warn of Heavy Rain and Wind

Jason Kelly, chief meteorologist at the Met Office, confirmed that wet and windy conditions are set to return. “Sunday will bring a return to wet and windy weather across the southern half of the UK,” Kelly stated. According to WX Charts, the heaviest rainfall will begin Saturday night, affecting southwest England and Wales the most.

A weather warning for rain has been issued from 4 p.m. on Sunday through Monday morning for southwest England and south Wales, with 20-30mm of rain expected across much of the area and up to 80mm possible in higher regions like Dartmoor and the Dorset Downs.

Yellow Wind Warning

In addition to the rain warning, the Met Office has issued a Yellow warning for wind from 9 a.m. to midnight on Sunday. The strongest gusts, up to 60mph, are predicted along exposed coastal areas and higher ground in southwest England and western Wales.
