Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz took responsibility for his team’s poor performance in a 41-10 loss to Texas A&M, urging players to find resolve as the season progresses.
BollywoodFever: Texas A&M dominated Missouri 41-10, improving to 5-1 on the season, while Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz took responsibility for the poor performance and issued an apology to fans.
After the game, Drinkwitz acknowledged that the team’s struggles on third downs, both offensively and defensively, played a significant role in the defeat.
Yeah, just a really poor performance by my football team, and it starts with me. I apologize to our fans. It’s my responsibility for us to be better,” Drinkwitz said. Missouri failed to capitalize on key moments, with an early 4th down stop contributing to the shift in momentum, though Drinkwitz stressed that one play didn’t dictate the outcome. “We had plenty of other opportunities.”
In a message to his players, Drinkwitz encouraged them to dig deep and improve, stating that the season truly starts now.
“You have one of two choices: You can fall apart, or you can dig deep and find resolve to get better.”
Missouri will need to regroup quickly as they look to bounce back from the heavy defeat.
