The Rangers rallied from a 4-1 deficit, narrowing the gap in the eighth inning. Josh Jung, who went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, singled to drive in Josh Smith. Nathaniel Lowe’s sacrifice fly brought home Marcus Semien, pulling Texas within one run.
Anthony Volpe led the Yankees’ offense by going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. New York starter Carlos Rodon was impressive, striking out 11 batters and allowing just one hit—a solo home run by Jung—over six innings.
