Mouni Roy is a Bollywood actress-model born on 28 September 1985 in Cooch Behar, West Bengal to a Bengali family.
Her grandfather, Shekhar Chandra Roy was a well-known Jatra theatre artist, Her mother Mukti was a theatre artist, and her father Anil Roy was an office superintendent of the Cooch Behar Zilla Parishad.
She debuted on television in 2007 with the role of Krishna Tulsi in Ekta Kapoor’s longest-running soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi on Star Plus
Roy’s career took a major turning point when she established herself as one of the most popular and highest-paid television actresses with her portrayal of Shivanya, a shape-shifting serpent in Kapoor’s highly successful and hyped supernatural thriller Naagin 1 (2015–16) on Colors TV.
Debuted in Bollywood opposite Akshay Kumar in Gold 2018 which became commercially successful.
