Following this match, Chile faced another setback four days later, losing their second group game against Argentina 1-0, with a last-minute goal by Lautaro Martínez. To advance in the tournament, Chile now needs to win their final game against Canada on Saturday, June 29.

One family member expressed their enduring bond with Grandpa Fena, saying, “Not even death can separate us, see you soon Grandpa.”

Local reactions to the unique wake were varied. One local quipped, “At my house, we watched the match like it was a funeral as well.” Another commented, “There were about five other dead people on the pitch too.”
