Natasha Lyonne has signed on to join the cast of Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four,” in a role that has not been disclosed yet, as confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter. Directed by Matt Shakman, the highly anticipated Disney project is scheduled to start filming in mid-summer in England, aiming for a release date of July 25, 2025.
“The Fantastic Four” features Pedro Pascal as scientist Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richards’ friend Ben Grimm/The Thing. The ensemble also includes Julia Garner as a female Silver Surfer, along with unannounced roles for Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich. The film is based on the long-running Marvel Comics series and is set in the 1960s, depicting the origins of the superhero team.
Matt Shakman, known for directing Marvel’s Disney+ series “WandaVision,” is directing the film from a screenplay by Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer, with additional work by Peter Cameron from “WandaVision.”
Lyonne, known for her roles in the streaming series “Poker Face” and “Russian Doll,” is also set to appear in Taika Waititi’s upcoming Sony film “Klara and the Sun,” alongside Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams. She is represented by CAA and Schreck Rose.
