NBA 2K23 1st Gameplay Trailer Features Devin Booker, LeBron James and More.
NBA 2K23 will be available soon and fans are excited to jump into the latest iteration of the 2K basketball simulation game, ready to see what new game modes, players, effects and other surprises await them in the game.
Players are hoping that the game will fix speed boosts and blocks, as well as working on many other visuals and mechanics that fans have wanted to improve over the years.
As September draws nearer and nearer, fans are getting more and more excited about the potential improvements in the game’s graphics as well as the details of the game.
Fans all over the internet have been debating NBA 2K23’s player rating predictions, graphical changes, game modes, and more, and now that 2K has released a new trailer, there’s even more to talk about.
In a video released by the studio, a group of hardwood favorites take to the stage. Former 2K cover athletes like Steph Curry, Zion Williamson, Luka Doncic, LeBron James and Giannis Antetekounpo play a big role.
Some of the movement options seem to be improved. (See those contact dunks from Zion and the Greek Freak!) The celebrations were also updated in what has become an annual tradition.
Curry has a “night of the night” celebration from the NBA Finals with the Golden State Warriors. Memphis’ Ja Morant does Griddy on the sidelines as well.
NBA 2K always manages to put culture at the forefront of the game, and the 2023 edition is no different.

Headlining star for this post Devin Booker will also get a buzzer beater on the Los Angeles Lakers. There’s a ton to take in, check it out below.
“It’s a dream come true to be on the cover of NBA 2K,” Booker explained during a press release when the game was announced. “I’ve been a huge fan of NBA 2K since I was a kid, and it’s incredible to finally join the exclusive club of basketball greats who have been reskin athletes.
I’m also honored to share this year’s covers with the iconic Michael Jordan, who changed the game for all players to come after him, as well as two of the all-time WNBA GOAT’s, Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird, who continue to have a huge impact on the game.”
The trailer also features highlights from the game featuring LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum and Zion Williamson, among others.
Perhaps the most notable aspect of the trailer is the inclusion of the popular hip-hop dance group Jabbawockeez, who appear to be part of the video game as either halftime or whistle-stop entertainment.
The NBA 2K series debuted in late 1999 with NBA 2K on the Dreamcast and has since blossomed into the premier basketball video game franchise.
Over the years, the franchise has made some significant strides in all aspects, including the addition of WNBA teams starting with NBA 2K20.
NBA 2K23 is scheduled to release on September 9 with availability on multiple platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.
In addition to the standard and WNBA editions of the game featuring alternate covers featuring Booker, as well as Bird and Taurasi, the Michael Jordan and Championship Editions will be emblazoned with the likeness of NBA legend Michael Jordan.
As stated at the end of the first trailer, NBA 2K23 is now available for pre-order.
