Isiah Thomas praises Caitlin Clark’s “real game” and “it factor,” despite turnovers, as the rookie leads the Indiana Fever to their first WNBA playoffs since 2016.
Bollywood Fever: NBA legend Isiah Thomas recently shared his thoughts on WNBA Rookie of the Year frontrunner Caitlin Clark during an interview with Dan Dakich on Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich on Fox News. Thomas has been closely watching Clark’s rookie season with the Indiana Fever, acknowledging both her strengths and weaknesses on the court.
Thomas noted that while Clark has shown tremendous playmaking and scoring ability, leading the WNBA in assists, she has also struggled with turnovers, averaging 5.7 per game. Despite this flaw, Thomas expressed confidence in her future, stating that as Clark continues to adjust to the WNBA and her teammates adapt to her passing, the turnovers will decrease.
The two-time NBA champion was full of praise for the 22-year-old, saying Clark has the “it factor” and “real game.” Her versatility has already set her apart in the league, where she currently averages 19.2 points, 8.5 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game. Clark leads all WNBA rookies in points and tops the league in assists.
More than individual success, Clark has played a pivotal role in leading the Indiana Fever to their first playoff appearance since 2016. The Fever currently sit at 19-17, ranked No. 6 in the WNBA standings.
Clark and the Fever are set for a key matchup on Wednesday against MVP frontrunner A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces, where she’ll look to further prove she has the “it factor” Thomas sees in her.
