While the win wasn’t flawless, with Nebraska recording 11 service errors—the same number as in their loss to SMU—coach John Cook and his team showed resilience. The Huskers started strong, jumping to a 6-1 lead with key aces from Lindsay Krause and Bergen Reilly, though service line struggles soon followed.

Despite six service errors in the first set, the Huskers cruised to a win. They continued to improve in the second frame, handling their business against a more comfortable Citadel team, and closed the third set with a commanding 19-10 run to seal the match.

Overall, Nebraska hit .367 with six aces and eight blocks, holding The Citadel to a .122 hitting percentage. Harper Murray led the way with a match-high nine kills and 10 digs, while Lexi Rodriguez tallied a match-best 15 digs. Bergen Reilly contributed 36 assists, and Taylor Landfair, a Minnesota transfer, had her best performance as a Husker with six kills on nine attacks.

Coach Cook acknowledged the team still had “a little PTSD from the other night” but credited the home crowd for providing a much-needed boost. Regarding the service errors, Cook admitted, “I’m just trying not to lose my mind,” and emphasized the importance of improving that aspect of their game moving forward.

Next, the Huskers will host Montana State on Saturday at 2 p.m. to wrap up the Husker Invitational.
