Buying Beverly Hills has been canceled by Netflix after two seasons, leaving fans without a third season of the real estate drama featuring Mauricio Umansky, his daughters, and the Umansky-Richards family saga.
Bollywood Fever: Netflix has decided not to renew Buying Beverly Hills for a third season, officially canceling the real estate reality show after two seasons. The cancellation was reported by Deadline on Friday, August 16, marking the end of the series that followed Mauricio Umansky and his team at The Agency, a company specializing in high-end real estate sales.
The show not only highlighted the high-stakes world of luxury real estate but also delved into the personal lives of Umansky’s family, including his daughters Farrah Brittany, 35, and Alexia Umansky, 27. The dynamic between the family members often drew comparisons to the drama seen in Succession, adding a layer of intrigue to the real estate dealings.
Umansky, 54, was married to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards, and their marital struggles became a central storyline in the second season of Buying Beverly Hills. The couple’s separation was featured prominently, with emotional scenes showing Umansky and Richards sitting down with their children—Alexia, Sophia, 24, and Portia, 16—to break the news.
“We wanted to have this conversation when we were all together, for obvious reasons,” Richards, 55, told the family, expressing her sorrow. Umansky added that despite their efforts to salvage the relationship, they ultimately needed to part ways. “I had an amazing 26 years with your mom… I wanted to do everything possible to just save it,” Umansky said, explaining Richards’ need for space.
The daughters’ reactions underscored the emotional toll of the situation, with Sophia remarking on how quickly their lives had changed. The family’s turmoil was first revealed to the public in July 2023, when People reported that Umansky and Richards had split. The news was a shock to the couple’s daughters, who were on vacation in Aspen when they found out.
While Buying Beverly Hills will not return, Netflix continues to offer a variety of other real estate reality shows, including Selling Sunset, Selling the OC, and Owning Manhattan, ensuring fans of the genre still have plenty to watch.
