NICKMERCS Makes Highly Anticipated Warzone Comeback Following Viral Controversy
Streamer NICKMERCS is making his long-awaited return to Warzone, nearly nine months after his CoD skin was removed due to a controversial statement about Pride month in elementary schools.
The relationship between Call of Duty and NICKMERCS has been tumultuous, particularly after the FaZe star ignited online controversy. In June 2023, he responded to a tweet regarding a school board’s acknowledgment of Pride month, expressing an opinion that garnered significant backlash.
Despite NICKMERCS’ attempt to clarify his stance and express regret for any offense caused, Call of Duty took action by removing his operator skin from the shop. This led to NICKMERCS stepping away from Warzone, but now it seems his hiatus is ending.
In a recent announcement on X, NICKMERCS confirmed his return to Warzone with a post featuring his operator skin back in action on the battlefield, signaling his comeback after many months away.
Despite ongoing tensions with Activision over the removal of his skin, NICKMERCS’ decision to return to Warzone has garnered support from his fans. Fellow streamer TimTheTatman, who had previously requested the removal of his own Operator skin in solidarity with NICKMERCS, enthusiastically welcomed the return, indicating a renewed sense of excitement among their community.
