Boxing icon Nicola Adams is set to make her Hollywood debut in The Gun On Second Street, an action-thriller tackling America’s gun crisis. Adams joins a star-studded cast alongside Poppy Delevingne and Rumer Willis.
BollywoodFever: Two-time Olympic gold medallist and boxing legend Nicola Adams is preparing to make her Hollywood debut in the upcoming action-thriller The Gun On Second Street.
Directed by Rohit Karn Batra, the film, which also stars Poppy Delevingne, Tom Arnold, and Rumer Willis, is set to explore America’s gun crisis through a gripping and tragic police drama.
The story revolves around Pittsburgh police officer TJ Meadows III, who accidentally shoots and kills his partner during a domestic violence call, forever changing their lives.
The film, currently in pre-production, is being produced by Guy J. Louthan of Ransom Films, with Rikin Shah serving as an executive producer. Sales are being handled by Storyboard.
Since retiring from boxing in 2019 with an undefeated professional record, Adams has been honing her acting craft at the Identity School of Acting (IDSA) in London—whose alumni include notable actors like John Boyega and Letitia Wright. The Gun On Second Street marks Adams’ first supporting role in a feature film.
Speaking about her new career path, Adams said,
“I’m thrilled to take on this new challenge and bring my fighting spirit to the big screen. Boxing taught me discipline, focus, and determination—skills I’m excited to apply to my acting career.”
While Adams’ role in the film is being kept under wraps, the film’s producers have high praise for the former boxer, stating: “Nicola’s incredible achievements in sport and her magnetic personality make her a natural fit for this role.”
Adams previously made guest appearances on popular shows like Waterloo Road, The Graham Norton Show, Celebrity Gogglebox, and Strictly Come Dancing, but this will be her first time stepping into the world of feature films.
