After a Wild Card loss to the Eagles, the Packers are exploring options to enhance their receiving corps. Could Davante Adams return to Green Bay this offseason?
The Green Bay Packers face a pivotal offseason after their Wild Card loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The defeat highlighted a glaring need for a true No. 1 wide receiver to elevate their offense. Among the potential solutions? A reunion with Davante Adams.
Packers’ Wide Receiver Concerns
While the Packers boast a deep receiver room filled with young talent, none of their players have emerged as a definitive top-tier wideout.
The absence of a dominant receiver has left a void since Adams’ departure, and many believe a seasoned veteran could fill that gap.
Even former Packers safety Xavier McKinney weighed in, urging Adams to return.
Commenting on a clip where Adams acknowledged Green Bay’s interest in receivers like Tee Higgins, McKinney wrote, “Pull back up,” sparking further speculation.

Adams’ Legacy in Green Bay
Adams, widely regarded as one of the Packers’ all-time great receivers, ranks fourth in franchise history for receiving yards and second for touchdowns.
His stellar career in Green Bay has made him a fan favorite, and his departure left an indelible mark on the team.
Currently, Adams is under a five-year, $140 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.
However, his $38 million cap hit and uncertainty surrounding the Raiders’ future—especially if quarterback Aaron Rodgers retires—could make him a trade candidate.
Adams Open to a Return
When asked about the possibility of rejoining the Packers on Up & Adams, Adams expressed an open mind:
“I would say, ‘yeah.’ I’m keeping my mind open. The Packers are a great team, and if they felt like it was a possibility for me… like I said, I’m still with the Jets.”
Adams’ willingness to consider a return, coupled with Packers GM Brian Gutekunst’s aggressive offseason approach in recent years, could pave the way for a reunion.
Packers’ Offseason Outlook
With the Packers seeking to enhance their offensive firepower, bringing back Adams would not only address their receiver concerns but also inject a proven, veteran presence into the locker room.
Whether or not Green Bay can navigate the financial hurdles remains to be seen, but the mutual admiration between Adams and the Packers keeps the possibility alive.
