Pakistan recalls leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed for the final test against Bangladesh after an all-pace attack fails in the first test, leading to a historic defeat.

Bollywood Fever: Pakistan has recalled leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed for the second and final test against Bangladesh, following a disappointing outcome in the series opener in Rawalpindi last week.

Pakistan’s decision to field an all-pace attack on a slow track proved costly, as they suffered their first-ever test defeat against Bangladesh on Sunday.

The absence of a frontline spinner in Pakistan’s lineup allowed Bangladesh to take full advantage of the conditions, with spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz sharing seven wickets between them, leading to a memorable 10-wicket victory for the visitors.

In response, Pakistan has added Abrar Ahmed, who has taken 38 wickets in six tests, to their squad for the final test.

Alongside Abrar, uncapped spin bowling all-rounder Kamran Ghulam has also been included. Additionally, all-rounder Aamer Jamal has been recalled, though his participation is contingent on passing a fitness test, according to a statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The final test, which will also be played in Rawalpindi, is set to begin on Friday. Pakistan will be looking to bounce back from the unexpected loss and adjust their strategy to include more spin options on the slow, spin-friendly track.
