Carolina Panthers fans are upset after a 28-6 season-opening loss to the New Orleans Saints. Luke Combs voices frustration as Bryce Young struggles in his second year.
Bollywood Fever: The Carolina Panthers’ 2024 season got off to a rocky start with a dismal 28-6 loss to division rival New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Following a tough 2-15 season in 2023, fans had hoped for improvement under new head coach Dave Canales and second-year quarterback Bryce Young.
However, the Panthers struggled on both sides of the ball, leaving fans disappointed.
Bryce Young’s season opener was far from ideal. The former No. 1 overall pick threw an interception on his very first pass of the year and finished the game completing just 13-of-30 passes for 161 yards, with zero touchdowns and two interceptions. Young faced constant pressure, as the Panthers allowed four sacks throughout the game.
On the defensive side, New Orleans quarterback Derek Carr led an efficient Saints offense. Carr completed 19-of-23 passes for 200 yards and three touchdowns, as the Saints rolled up 379 yards in total offense.
Country music star and North Carolina native Luke Combs expressed his frustration on social media following the disappointing performance, tweeting, “New year, same old Panthers. Absolutely gruesome to watch.”
The Panthers will look to bounce back in their home opener next Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers (1-0). Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
