BollywoodFever: Police in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, are searching for a female tourist who stripped and posed nude in front of a Maybank signboard in a public area. The incident, which took place in a conservative country where public nudity is strictly illegal, was captured in a short video clip. The video, reportedly first uploaded to the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, has prompted authorities to believe the woman is a foreign national.
The vibrant signboard, located at a bustling intersection, has gained popularity among Chinese tourists, which led to its appearance in the video. Police chief assistant commissioner Kasim Muda confirmed that an investigation is underway, and if caught, the woman could face legal action. The Malaysian Communications & Multimedia Commission is expected to assist in identifying the individual who posted the clip.
The case is being classified as an obscene act, and if found guilty, the woman could face up to five years in prison, a fine, or both. As a foreign national, she could also face a ban on entering or leaving Malaysia.
Malaysia enforces strict laws regarding nudity, including censorship of media and a ban on pornography. This incident has caused concern among locals and authorities alike, especially in a conservative society that takes public morality seriously.
