Bollywood Fever: TikTok star Rachel Yaffe, known for sharing her journey battling liver cancer, has tragically passed away at the age of 27 on October 11. The Maryland-based influencer had been fighting the disease for seven years and remained open about her experiences on social media. Just days before her passing, Rachel shared a final heartbreaking post, expressing that she was feeling weak after radiation treatment but staying positive.
Rachel was diagnosed with fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma, a rare form of liver cancer, when she was in her late teens. Initially, she thought her symptoms were due to gluten intolerance, but after seeking medical attention, doctors discovered a 20cm tumor in her liver. She underwent surgery shortly after the diagnosis to remove the tumor.
Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma primarily affects adolescents and young adults without a history of liver disease, according to the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation. Despite her diagnosis of stage four cancer, Rachel bravely chronicled her health battles, offering inspiration and hope to her followers throughout her journey.
