The Los Angeles Rams are considering trade options for linebacker Ernest Jones, who has clarified he did not request a trade. Coach Sean McVay confirms discussions with Jones’ representatives and other teams.
Bollywood Fever: The Los Angeles Rams are reportedly exploring trade options for linebacker Ernest Jones, though the player himself has made it clear that he did not request to be traded.
After news surfaced that the Rams were allowing Jones to seek a trade, the fourth-year linebacker took to social media to clarify his stance, though he later deleted the post.
Rams head coach Sean McVay confirmed that the team has had discussions with Jones’ representatives and other teams regarding a potential trade.
While the Rams are open to the idea of moving Jones, they have not extended his contract, despite earlier talks this spring.
“In his defense, he’s right. He never requested a trade,” McVay said, addressing the situation. “We had communication with his representation, there’s been some dialogue with teams and that’s kind of where it’s at. These are parts of the profession and they’re not fun parts, but they are real parts that you have to acknowledge. Ernest is a pro in every sense of the word.”
Jones has been a key contributor to the Rams’ defense, starting in 15 games last season and recording 145 tackles.
He was expected to take on a leadership role within the team this year, making the recent developments all the more surprising.
As the Rams continue to navigate this situation, the outcome remains uncertain, and it will be interesting to see how it impacts both the team’s roster and Jones’ career moving forward.
Whether he remains with the Rams or finds a new home through a trade, Jones’ professional approach to the situation is evident, and his future in the NFL will be closely watched.
