Bollywood Fever: Rob Rausch, a contestant from Season 6 of the Peacock series “Love Island,” has revealed he’s not eager to rekindle his relationship with Andrea Carmona. Speaking on the July 24 episode of Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Rausch explained his decision to keep his distance from Carmona after their time on the show ended.
“I’ve been talking to her a little bit, but it’s not like – I think, I think once again, it’s probably better if we just kind of keep our distance for now,” Rausch said.
He noted that Carmona’s frequent posts about the show, especially following her emotional exit, have been a point of contention.
“She did nothing wrong, literally did nothing wrong. And she was always kind. When she left, she was in a position where she could have said a lot of mean things and been like y’all are some b—es for doing this, blah blah blah. [She] did not say a word,” Rausch continued, expressing his admiration for how she handled her departure.
Despite reaching out to her after his elimination on the July 19 episode, and having a brief FaceTime call, Rausch feels it’s best to maintain some distance. Carmona exited the villa during the June 23 episode after a dramatic recoupling, which saddened Rausch. He expressed regret over his initial decision to leave the villa with her, a move he now “100% regrets.”
“I wish I wouldn’t have said it, but in that moment, that’s what I was doing. I was set on leaving,” he admitted, reflecting on the situation.
Rausch acknowledged that their connection was strong, but it was still early in their relationship, and they had much to learn about each other. Following Carmona’s departure, Rausch coupled up with Cassidy Laudano and later brought Daniela Ortiz Rivera back to the villa after their Casa Amor trip. He ended the season linked to Kassy Castillo, another Season 5 alum, but they were both dumped during the July 19 episode.
Initially, Rausch started the show paired with Leah Kateb, who finished in second place with her partner Miguel Harichi.
In the interview, Rausch expressed his mixed emotions and the complexity of navigating relationships both inside and outside the villa. As he continues to process his experience on “Love Island,” he seems focused on moving forward while respecting the connections he made.
