Bollywood Fever: Rob ‘The Rabbit’ Pitts, star of Netflix’s popular show Tex Mex Motors, has passed away at the age of 45 following a courageous battle with stomach cancer.
Pitts, known for his charismatic presence and passion for cars, died on August 25, just days after sharing a heartfelt video with fans announcing his diagnosis and saying his goodbyes.
Pitts was adored by fans for his role in Tex Mex Motors, a show that follows motor enthusiasts as they transport cars from Mexico to El Paso, Texas, and restore them.
His passing was confirmed by his videographer, Jeff, who shared the news with a touching message: “He just passed at 21:45 on 08/25/2024. I will be sure to preserve the channel. He will be missed and we will never forget him.”
In his final video, Pitts revealed that he had been struggling with health issues since last year, initially seeking medical help for symptoms that were treated but not thoroughly investigated.
As he continued filming the second season of Tex Mex Motors, he began experiencing severe acid reflux-like symptoms, which eventually led to a trip to the ER in March. It was there that he was diagnosed with stomach cancer, a condition he initially mistook for gallbladder problems.
“It’s been rough. More bad days than good but hanging in there. I have a lot to live for and life has been going my way. Don’t be sad for me,” Pitts shared in the emotional video.
Despite his diagnosis, he remained optimistic, celebrating the accomplishments he achieved, including buying his own store, finishing the second season of his Netflix show, and marrying the love of his life. “Luckily she doesn’t mind doing long-term things with a short-term guy,” he added with his characteristic humor.
Pitts also took the opportunity to urge his fans to pay attention to their health, advising them to seek medical advice if they suspected any issues.
Rob ‘The Rabbit’ Pitts leaves behind a legacy of determination, passion, and warmth, both on and off the screen.
His influence on the car community and his connection with fans will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the memories he created and the stories he shared.
