Russell Brand faces ridicule after promoting a $239.99 “magical amulet” that supposedly shields users from harmful energies from wireless devices, despite scientific evidence debunking such claims.
Bollywood Fever: Russell Brand found himself trending on social media on October 15, after appearing in an ad for a “magical amulet” that supposedly protects users from “evil energies” emitted by wireless devices. In the ad, Brand is seen walking through a garden, carrying a suitcase, and wearing the amulet, claiming it shields him from “all the various signals out there.”
“As you know, airports are places full of WiFi and all sorts of evil energies. Think of all the phones out there, all of the signals, corruptible and corrupting,” Brand explains, before suggesting that the amulet gives him newfound strength.

In the video, Brand lifts the suitcase to demonstrate his supposed enhanced power. The clip quickly gained traction on social media, with many users mocking the promotional video. One popular comment humorously pointed out that Brand is ironically wearing a wireless microphone in the clip, despite warning about the dangers of wireless technology.
While some speculated that the video could be satire, Brand is officially listed as a partner of the company selling the $239.99 amulet. He has also previously promoted their products on his platforms.
The company behind the amulet claims that electromagnetic fields (EMFs) from devices can have “negative health consequences,” stating that the amulet creates an environment that supports the body’s natural electromagnetic functions. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) debunks these claims, stating that “current evidence does not confirm the existence of any health consequences from exposure to low-level electromagnetic fields.”
The WHO further explains that while mobile phones emit higher levels of electromagnetic fields than typical environments, these levels “do not appear to generate harmful effects.”
The TikTok video was originally posted on the company’s TikTok account but has since been removed.
This recent controversy comes after Russell Brand faced accusations of rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse from four women, which allegedly occurred between 2006 and 2013.
