Boxer Ryan Garcia issues a public apology to ex-wife Andrea Celina following allegations of harassment and property damage, pledges to enter rehab amid ongoing controversies.
Bollywood Fever: Boxer Ryan Garcia has issued a public apology to his ex-wife, Andrea Celina, following allegations that he vandalized their home and sent her threatening messages. The incident, which occurred earlier this week, marks another troubling episode for the athlete, who recently announced plans to check himself into rehab after being expelled from the WBC for making racial slurs online.
Garcia, 25, was accused of harassing Celina and their two children, Bela and Henry, on Tuesday. Celina shared photos and screenshots on social media, showing the damage to their shared property and the violent threats Garcia allegedly made. She emphasized that Garcia needs to focus on getting sober.
In one message, Garcia reportedly threatened to “f**k up” Celina, accusing her of infidelity and theft. He also used derogatory terms to describe her and threatened to track her down in Miami.
Following the incident, Garcia took to TikTok to apologize to Celina and reiterated his intention to seek help. “I woke up the next morning regretting everything I did and everything I said about Andrea,” Garcia said. “Andrea, you’re the mother of my children and somebody that I’ll always have love and respect for.”
Garcia continued, “You grew up [with] me and you’ve seen me at my best and now you’ve seen me at my worst. Andrea and everybody knows that I’ve got a lot of stuff going on right now, but I’ve finally decided to get some help.”
Garcia has had a tumultuous year, including the birth of his second child, his divorce from Celina, a controversial win over Devin Haney in April, and several social media outbursts. After defeating Haney, it was revealed that Garcia failed drug tests taken before and on the day of the fight, resulting in a 12-month suspension from boxing. Additionally, he was expelled from the WBC after making racist comments referencing the KKK and George Floyd.
In his TikTok video, Garcia expressed regret over his actions. I lost everything in the past couple of weeks,” he said. “My boxing career, just so much other things. I hurt Andrea, I hurt you, I hurt our kids, I hurt everybody around me for my actions.”
He added, “I’m sorry because I know our kids are going to watch these when they get older. I’m so sorry. I lost everything. I lost the one thing I ever loved me, who knew me the most. Andrea knows me the most. I’m sorry Andrea, I feel bad.”
Garcia retracted his previous accusations against Celina, stating, “She never stole money from me. She never did wrong by me. She never cheated on me. We weren’t together, so right there, she’s not a cheater. She’s a great woman.”
