Shohei Ohtani’s 50/50 ball surpasses $2 million in auction, breaking MLB records and aiming to surpass Mark McGwire’s $3 million ball sale from 1998.

BollywoodFever: Shohei Ohtani‘s historic 50/50 ball, which represents his remarkable achievement of hitting 50 home runs and stealing 50 bases in a single season, has surpassed the $2 million mark at the ongoing Goldin Auctions.

This achievement has already made the ball the most expensive ever auctioned in MLB history, surpassing the $1.5 million paid for Aaron Judge’s 2022 home run ball.

Shohei Ohtani Becomes First Player with 50 Home Runs and 50 Stolen Bases in Historic Game

Ohtani’s standout at-bat against the Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park, which led to this remarkable milestone, is considered one of the season’s highlights.

Now, collectors are eager to see if this ball can break the long-standing record set in 1998 when Mark McGwire’s 70th home run ball was sold for a staggering $3 million to comic book artist Todd McFarlane.

With 10 days left in the auction, fans are watching closely to see if Ohtani’s ball will surpass the $3 million mark and become the most expensive piece of memorabilia in baseball history.
