Silver Alert Issued for Missing Son of Former NFL Player Amid Abuse Allegations

Indiana police have issued a Silver Alert for Bryson Muir, the 14-year-old son of retired NFL player Daniel Muir, amid concerns of extreme danger and allegations of parental abuse.

Bollywood Fever: Indiana police have issued a Silver Alert for Bryson Muir, the 14-year-old son of retired Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Daniel Muir, who is believed to be in extreme danger amid allegations of abuse against his parents.

Bryson Muir was last seen leaving a family member’s home in Ohio two weeks ago, according to Indiana State Police. The situation took a concerning turn when parents Daniel and Kristen Muir became uncooperative with investigators.

“Earlier today, Daniel and Kristen Muir had agreed to bring their 14-year-old son Bryson to meet with ISP investigators at the Peru Post,” Indiana State Police explained in a press release. “The agreement was to meet at 12:00 p.m. At approximately 11:00 a.m., the Muirs backed out of that arrangement which signaled an unwillingness to cooperate.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and police urge anyone with information to call the Peru Post at 1-800-382-0689. Indiana is among 28 states that use the Silver Alert for any missing person, unlike 37 other states that limit the alert to cases of missing seniors.

Bryson is described as a 6-foot-2, 185-pound black male with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen with a bruise around his eye, as pictured in a photograph shared by police. The child’s grandmother reported the black eye to police, indicating potential abuse at the hands of his parents.

Bryson was last seen leaving a family member’s home in the Cleveland suburbs on June 16 in his mother Kristen’s white 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicle, driven by Kristen, belongs to a Kokomo, Indiana organization known as the Servant Leader’s Foundation. Shortly after leaving the residence, the vehicle was pulled over by police in Garfield Heights, but Bryson was no longer in the vehicle. Police are baffled by how Bryson went missing in the short time between being picked up by his mother and the vehicle being stopped by local police.

“It was minutes, it wasn’t a very long period of time whatsoever,” Indiana State Police Captain Ron Galaviz said, as quoted by Indianapolis’ Fox 59. “But in that period of time, Bryson wasn’t able to be found. We don’t know where he went.”

Two days later, the Cass County Department of Child Services called Indiana State Police to investigate accusations of domestic battery against Bryson at the Muir family home in Logansport, Indiana. Like the vehicle, the property is owned by the Servant Leader’s Foundation, according to Indiana State Police.

Daniel Muir, 40, is a Washington DC native who played at Kent State before going undrafted in 2007. He eventually signed with the Green Bay Packers and spent three seasons with the Colts, as well as parts of the 2012 season with the New York Jets.

Daniel has also served as the Indianapolis chapter pastor for Straitway Truth Ministries, an organization described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a potential hate group over anti-LGBTQ and anti-Semitic ideology. Former Packers star Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila and ex-Colts player Robert Mathis have also been linked to the ministry.
