The Swiss foreign ministry announced the reopening in a statement, emphasizing the significance of this move in strengthening bilateral relations.
“By reopening the embassy, the federal council aims to strengthen bilateral relations with the populous country and deepen cooperation in economic, security, and migration matters,” the statement read.
The reopening of the embassy reflects Switzerland’s commitment to re-engaging with Iraq and enhancing collaboration in critical areas that impact both nations.
