T1’s run to Worlds 2024 is in jeopardy after a 2-3 loss to DPlus KIA. With one more loss, the team could miss the international tournament for the first time.
BollywoodFever: T1’s journey to Worlds 2024 is hanging by a thread after a heartbreaking loss to DPlus KIA.
Despite being heavily favored, T1 fell 2-3 in a crucial match, leaving them just one defeat away from missing the prestigious international tournament.
The iconic LCK team has struggled to find its rhythm this season, with their performance in the LCK Summer Playoffs raising concerns.
T1 came into the event on a three-game winning streak, securing victories against OK BRION, BNK FearX, and Kwangdong Freecs. However, they faltered with back-to-back losses, and their series against Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) was especially disappointing.
T1 only managed 25 kills across the three-game series and failed to break into their opponent’s base.
The team’s ongoing slump has been a source of frustration for both players and fans, especially after the high expectations set by their previous Esports World Cup win.
Now, after another devastating defeat at the hands of DPlus KIA, T1’s Worlds 2024 hopes are in serious jeopardy.
While DPlus KIA boasts star mid laner Showmaker and Worlds-winning top laner Kingen, much of their roster is relatively inexperienced.
Despite this, DK’s players, including Aiming, Lucid, and newcomer Moham, managed to come together just in time for the crucial match against T1.
T1’s final chance to secure a spot at Worlds 2024 will be determined by their performance against the winner of FearX vs KT.
While T1 has a strong historical record against KT, the matchup is far from guaranteed. KT’s roster is one of the strongest in the LCK, making this final series a make-or-break moment for T1.
Even if T1 manages to qualify, questions will remain about their form and their ability to compete at the highest level during Worlds 2024.
