As per recent reports Tabu has joined the cast of the upcoming series Dune: Prophecy, soon to be released on JioCinema. This Max original series, part of the critically acclaimed Dune movie franchise that has won six Academy Awards, is eagerly anticipated by its dedicated fanbase.
Set in the expansive universe of Dune, created by the renowned author Frank Herbert, Dune: Prophecy follows two Harkonnen sisters as they battle forces threatening the future of humankind and establish the legendary sect known as the Bene Gesserit.
Tabu’s character, based on the novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, is Sister Francesca.
Speaking about the series release on JioCinema, Tabu shared, “I am thrilled to be a part of the massive global franchise, Dune: Prophecy, and to be working with some of the most brilliant creators, actors, and crew in the industry. Tabu will portray Sister Francesca, a strong, intelligent, and alluring woman, promising to leave a lasting impression with her quintessential charm. Upon awakening, Sister Francesca returns to the Palace, where she was once beloved by the Emperor, but her presence disrupts the balance of power in the capital, leading to a story of grit, human emotions, and cosmic mystique.
Tabu has previously worked on international movies and series such as A Suitable Boy, Life of Pi, and The Namesake, in addition to numerous Indian works that have gained international recognition. She will be working alongside a stellar cast including Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Johdi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, and Shalom Brune-Franklin. Dune: Prophecy is expected to premiere soon exclusively on JioCinema.
