Aamir Khan learned how to swim for the film, which took him about four months.
Saif Ali Khan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan all turned down the lead role before the filmmakers’ first choice, Aamir Khan, took the part.
Omi Vaidya was cast to play a villain but eventually dropped out.
The film was earlier titled Dhuaan and then Act of Murder then Zakhmi.
