Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce make a surprise appearance at Yankee Stadium during ALCS Game 1. Swift’s reaction to Juan Soto’s home run sparks viral social media buzz.
BollywoodFever: The New York Yankees welcomed the Cleveland Guardians to Yankee Stadium for Game 1 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) on Monday night, but it wasn’t just the baseball game that had fans talking. Celebrity couple Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce made a surprise appearance, capturing the attention of both the media and social media.
Just hours before the game, Yankees manager Aaron Boone mentioned to reporters that he’d heard rumors of Swift and Kelce attending the game, a detail later confirmed by Major League Baseball after the first inning. Kelce, a Cleveland native and supporter of his hometown Guardians, found himself in an unexpected rivalry with Swift, who seemed to be rooting for the Yankees.
In the bottom of the third inning, Yankees outfielder Juan Soto launched a solo home run to right center field, putting the Yankees on the scoreboard. Swift was seen celebrating enthusiastically, turning to Kelce with a cheer as her team took the lead. Kelce responded with a laugh, seemingly unfazed by his Guardians falling behind.
Swift’s reaction quickly went viral on social media, with fans commenting on the playful dynamic between the couple. “The way she turned to him & he couldn’t even be mad,” one fan wrote. Another tweeted, “Yes girl. Celebrate the Yankees home run in front of your Cleveland-born boyfriend.”
The Yankees continued to build on their lead, scoring three runs in the third inning and adding another in the fourth. Meanwhile, the Guardians responded with a solo home run from shortstop Brayan Rocchio in the sixth inning, but the Yankees still led 4-1 by that point.
With both the game and the celebrity appearance making waves, it seems the buzz surrounding Swift and Kelce is almost as exciting as the Yankees’ lead in the ALCS.
