Today, Meta announced that Instagram would have a new Sensitive Content Control function.

As most of you should know, some “not-safe-for-work” images are floating around on Instagram.

With this, Sensitive Content Control has only two options for teens: “Standard” and “Less.”.

Teenagers signing up for Instagram who is under 16 years old will automatically be defaulted to “Less,” whereas existing teens will receive a prompt message to choose the “Less” experience. Also Read, Clipboard History On iPhone How To get and copy or see it?

Applying the “Less” option will restrict teens from coming across potentially sensitive content or accounts in Search, Explore, Hashtag Pages, Reels, Feed Recommendations, and Suggested Accounts.

On top of that, Meta is also updating its safety and privacy settings for Instagram.

Teens now can adjust their settings, such as who can reshare their content, who can message and contact them, and how much time is spent on the platform.

It’s also noted that users under 18 years old won’t have access to “More.” Also Read, How To Download and Play The SIMS 4 on Chromebook?

In addition, the platform will prompt teens to review their account settings, including options to control who can re-share their content, who can message them, and also the amount of time they spend on Instagram.

With Instagram making its suggestion algorithm more aggressive to compete with TikTok, users (especially parents) have become concerned about what young people can see on the social network.

It’s worth noting that Instagram also restricts how teens can send and receive messages from unknown people.

We’re continuously developing controls to help people personalize their experience on Instagram. Last summer, we launched the Sensitive Content Control so people could choose how much or how little sensitive content to see in Explore from accounts they don’t follow.
