Telugu Actor Sarath Babu Passed Away at 71
Telugu senior actor Sarath Babu, who was previously the subject of unverified media reports about his demise, has unfortunately passed away. Initially, his family had dismissed the rumors and confirmed his well-being.
However, the latest update confirms that Sarath Babu has indeed passed away. On April 20, he was admitted to the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad, where his health deteriorated rapidly. Sadly, Sarath breathed his last a short while ago, as confirmed by the media.
The veteran actor experienced multi-organ failure, which ultimately led to his demise. Despite the efforts of the medical team, his condition continued to decline.
Sarath Babu, whose real name is Satyam Babu Deekshithulu, was born on July 31, 1951, in Amudala Valasa, Srikakulam district. He made his debut in the film “Ramarajyam” in 1973 and portrayed a wide range of characters throughout his illustrious career.

Sarath Babu made his acting debut in the film “Kadhalikka Neramillai” in 1964 as a child artist. He gained recognition for his performances in films like “Aval Oru Thodar Kathai,” “Nizhal Nijamagiradhu,” and “Niram Maaratha Pookkal.” His portrayal of diverse roles earned him critical acclaim and established him as a versatile actor.
Apart from his acting career, Sarath Babu has also ventured into politics. He joined the Indian National Congress party and contested in the 2009 elections for the Chennai South constituency. However, he was not successful in his political endeavors and did not win the election.
Sarath Babu has received several awards and honors throughout his career, including the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor and the Tamil Nadu State Film Honorary Award.
