Bollywood Fever: Three men have been arrested following the stabbing of a 32-year-old woman who was attending the Notting Hill Carnival with her young child.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday evening, left the victim in critical condition. Emergency medical treatment was administered by officers at the scene before paramedics arrived to transport her to the hospital.

This morning, Metropolitan Police detectives arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder and violent disorder.

Two other men, aged 24 and 22, were also arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. All three suspects remain in custody as investigations into the incident continue.

The stabbing is believed to have occurred during an altercation between two groups of men, which the woman became inadvertently involved in.

Commander Charmain Brenyah, the Met’s spokesperson for the Notting Hill Carnival, expressed deep concern for the victim and her family.

“Our thoughts, first and foremost, are with the woman who is fighting for her life in hospital and with her loved ones,” Commander Brenyah stated. “She came to Carnival to have fun, with her young child, and was caught up in the most awful violence.”

They are the result of a determined effort by detectives who have worked around the clock to identify, locate, and arrest these suspects,” she said. “I’d also like to acknowledge the incredible work of the officers, including police medics, who arrived so quickly—delivering emergency medical treatment and securing the scene to preserve vital evidence.”

The investigation into the stabbing, as well as other incidents that occurred over the Carnival weekend, is ongoing.

The police have urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward as they continue to piece together the events leading up to the attack.

The Notting Hill Carnival, known for its vibrant celebration of Caribbean culture, was marred by this tragic incident, raising concerns over safety and security at large public events.

The authorities remain committed to ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice.
