Roth, who was 36 years old, died from an irregular heartbeat caused by scarring on the heart muscle, and her death has been ruled as natural.
Roth’s toxicology report indicated no presence of alcohol in her system, but she tested positive for diphenhydramine, a common antihistamine, and mitragynine, an alkaloid often used for pain management.
The news of Roth’s cause of death was first reported by TMZ on Tuesday. Roth’s mother, Jacquie Cohen Roth, had announced her daughter’s unexpected passing on LinkedIn back in April, expressing her heartbreak and noting the profound impact Kyle had on many people’s lives through her social media presence.
“She touched some of your lives personally and some of your lives via her immense life on another platform,” Jacquie wrote. “Kyle loved and lived fiercely. Nothing makes sense now and we’ll understand more in the next few days. Be kind to one another please.”
Kyle’s sister, Lindsay Roth, also shared a heartfelt tribute, highlighting Kyle’s many talents and the joy she brought to those around her. “I know she touched so many people with her humor, intelligence, beauty, gossip activism, athleticism and more – she had so many gifts,” Lindsay said.
Among those mourning Roth’s passing is “Uncut Gems” star Julia Fox, who commented on Kyle’s death despite never having met her in person. “I really felt like I knew her,” Fox, 34, shared. “I’m so devastated and have been crying ever since the news leaked on TikTok. I really hope she did it [sic] suffer and I hope she knew how much she touched our lives. She was a ray of sunshine and I will miss her deeply.”
