TLC’s T-Boz was hospitalized for an abdominal blockage, leading to the cancellation of their August 24 concert. The singer is expected to recover soon.
Bollywood Fever: TLC had to cancel their scheduled concert on Saturday, August 24, at the New York State Fair in Syracuse after singer Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins was rushed to the hospital for a severe abdominal blockage.
The decision to cancel the concert was made just 30 minutes before its start time, leaving fans disappointed but concerned for T-Boz’s health.
According to a press release, T-Boz, 54, experienced sudden and severe symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, and intense abdominal cramps, shortly after arriving in Syracuse.
She was immediately evaluated by a doctor and subsequently taken to the hospital for further assessment.
The diagnosis revealed a severe abdominal blockage, which required her to remain in the hospital overnight for a CT scan to determine the severity of her condition.
“The doctor verified that this was not food poisoning, but an abdominal blockage,” the statement clarified.
T-Boz expressed her deep regret for having to cancel the show, extending sincere apologies to her fans and the event promoters.
Despite the unexpected health scare, she is expected to be discharged on Sunday, August 25.
T-Boz shared an update on her Instagram, assuring fans that she is on the mend and looks forward to rescheduling the canceled shows.
“I’m on The Mend!!! This Was Just One Of Those Unexpected Things That I Had No Control Over,” she wrote. “I Look Forward To Making It Up 2 You All … And Hopefully I’ll Get Out Of The Hospital Soon!!! As Soon As Tomorrow If All Goes Well!!! Thank You For Understanding… Blessings Always, T.”
T-Boz has previously faced significant health challenges, including living with sickle cell disease and undergoing surgery to remove a benign brain tumor in 2006.
In her 2017 memoir, A Sick Life, she detailed the difficulties of managing her health while maintaining a successful career in music.
TLC, now a duo comprising T-Boz and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas following the 2002 death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, is committed to rescheduling the canceled concerts.
Fans are hopeful for T-Boz’s speedy recovery and are eager to see the group back on stage soon.
