Toni Storm commenced her training with the Australian branch of Impact Pro Wrestling, a New Zealand promotion unrelated to the American promotion Impact Wrestling. She took on the ring name Storm (later changed to Toni Storm) and debuted for the company on October 9, 2009, at the age of 13.
After refining her skills with Impact for five years, she decided to seek further training and enhancement of her wrestling abilities. At 18, with her mother’s approval, she relocated to England to live with her grandmother in Liverpool. There, she trained under Dean Allmark and began her international wrestling journey, performing in various countries such as Finland, France, Germany, and Spain.
In 2016, Storm entered the Japanese promotion Stardom, where she achieved notable success. She won the SWA World Championship on July 24 and later signed with Stardom on October 2. She secured victories in the 2017 Cinderella Tournament and the 2017 5★Star GP, making her the first wrestler to triumph in both tournaments in a single year.
