Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou reveals a late decision on Son Heung-min’s fitness ahead of Sunday’s Manchester United match after his Europa League injury.
BollywoodFever: Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou has revealed that a late decision will be made regarding the fitness of Son Heung-min ahead of Sunday’s Premier League showdown against Manchester United.
Son, who started in Tottenham’s 3-0 Europa League victory over Qarabag on Thursday, limped off in the 71st minute after receiving treatment for a potential hamstring issue.
Postecoglou hopes the injury is not severe, with Son pushing to train on Saturday in a bid to prove his fitness. “Sonny wants to train tomorrow, and we will make a decision from there,” Postecoglou said.
Son’s future at Tottenham has also been a topic of discussion this week, with his current contract set to expire next summer.
However, the club has an option to extend his deal, which they plan to activate. Postecoglou expressed his desire for Son to remain at the club, where he has spent 10 seasons.
If Son is unable to play, Postecoglou has limited options on the left wing, with Timo Werner and Mikey Moore potential replacements, while Dejan Kulusevski could also feature in the wide position.
