A tragic incident at a bar in suburban Pittsburgh resulted in two fatalities and seven injuries, police reported on Sunday.
The Allegheny County Police Department’s homicide unit responded to a call for assistance from the Penn Hills Police Department following an early morning shooting at the Ballers Hookah Lounge and Cigar Bar in Penn Hills.
First responders arrived at the scene around 3 a.m. Sunday, discovering the bodies of an adult male and an adult female inside the bar. Seven more victims were found; some were transported from the scene, while others walked into nearby hospitals, according to a statement from the Allegheny County police on social media.
One of the victims is in critical condition, while the remaining victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the statement added.
Preliminary information indicates that “an altercation took place inside the bar and multiple individuals opened fire,” county police said.
The statement did not specify if any suspects were in custody.
