Travis Kelce shares a sweet new nickname for Taylor Swift and discusses his cameo on her Eras Tour. He also reveals Swift’s growing interest in football and her creative input for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Bollywood Fever: Travis Kelce recently unveiled another endearing nickname for his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, while reflecting on his memorable cameo during her Eras Tour.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who has previously referred to Swift as “baby” and “sweetie,” affectionately called her “Tay Tay” during a Tuesday appearance on the Rich Eisen Show.
“I’m always down to have some fun on stage with Tay Tay,” Kelce, 34, said with a smile, reminiscing about his June 2024 appearance during Swift’s “Tortured Poet’s Department” set. Despite his enthusiasm, Kelce admitted he didn’t do much preparation for the performance, crediting Swift for placing him in a comfortable part of the show.
“Taylor knew when the lights are on I’m gonna have some fun, and she put me in a position so that I didn’t have to do much for it to be a success,” he explained. Kelce also joked that his primary focus was ensuring he didn’t drop the “Cruel Summer” singer, which he said would have been “the most embarrassing thing I ever could have done.”
During the episode, Kelce also confirmed that Swift has been getting involved in football by drawing up plays for the Chiefs’ offense—a revelation that quarterback Patrick Mahomes had hinted at last week. Kelce noted that Swift, who came into their relationship with little knowledge of the sport, has been eager to learn more.
“She didn’t know much about the rules and everything, but what makes her so good in her profession is that she’s so detailed in every aspect of it,” Kelce shared. “She’s just curious about the profession.”
However, Kelce confessed that he hasn’t shown any of Swift’s offensive schemes to head coach Andy Reid, joking that her plays are “a little biased” and tend to favor getting the ball to him.
As the NFL season kicks off, Kelce might have the opportunity to put one of Swift’s plays into action when the Chiefs face off against the Baltimore Ravens later this week.
